I saw this and was hit right off with the simplicity of it. So, I went to Crochet with Raymond - Granny Mandala Tutorial to get the pattern and started with my selecting of colors. Then a hook, hoping this will work with thread and a Steel Crochet Hook in size 2.55. The colors I plan to use are all Cotton in a size 10 and these are the colors I selected.
I mostly tried to stay with what I had in a size 10 thread, but I think they go well together. I then began my tablecloth and this is what I have so far. It is only four rounds but I know it will grow quickly.

Love that mandala. I'm going to have to try me one of those. :-) Another thing to add to my to-do list!
