Corrections and Another Scarf

Do you remember that I posted this cloth as the first Illusion cloth that I had knitted. And I stated that there were errors in the pattern and the corrections that were sent were also incorrect and we were not aware of it till the cloth was almost done. Well, it bothered me so I redid it. I will also be redoing some of the other I made also. I used Cotton from Peaches n' Cream and size 5 needles for both cloths.

Anyway here is a photo of it completed as it should be without the errors and the colors in the correct order so the eggs are white on a bed of green grass. Now I can say that Illusion cloths are okay but not really my favorites.

This is a scarf that I made without a pattern. I was just using up some yarn of an unknown brand of white. It is a flocked ribbon type yarn. The border is dc all around with 3 dc in each corner and I used a "J" hook and Patons Ci Ci yarn in Rio Red. Both yarns were gifted to me by Scarlet, my sister over at The Yarn Barn.

I am now working on the shawl I started and had to frog so many times that I lost heart with working on it. But have selected a shell stitch and I am just making a rectangular shawl in the shell pattern. Photos coming when finished.

May Dishcloth Hearts and Crosses

Here is another dishcloth for the month of may. If you click on the picture you can see the design a little better. These designs are a mystery until you complete the cloth so you never know what you will be making until it is done.

l used Lion Brand Cotton in Poppy Red. I really don't favor this yarn over Peaches n' Cream or Sugar n' Cream. It is very dense to work with and does not have any type of sheen to it. The needle size was a 5-1/2. This is the first cloth that I have knitted that does not have some type of error in it.

I am still working on the shawl but have frogged it so many times that I have changed to a different pattern stitch. The pattern I was using had to have errors in it because my ends never came out right. I think they had their end finishes and starts mixed up. It became to frustrating. But what I am doing now is just a shawl that is rectangular and done in a stitch I got out of 101 Crochet Stitches by Jean Leinhauser.

I Might Be Back!

I am slowly but surely coming out of my funk! Don't really have a lot to talk about and not feeling real spunky yet but wanted to say thanks for all the nice comments you all left me and for your concern and emails. It is nice to know when your world is falling apart that there are people out there that care.

These are a few items I have been working on. It goes slowly as my mood improves. Then I go into a slump again and stop, so this is just a rendering of what has been on my hook. This cute little candy kiss. I used an "F" hook and Herrschners Halloween yarn, donated to me by my sister.

This item was requested by my daughter. I used the lip balm pattern from JPC and a steel #7 hook. I used #3 thread and added the sequin flower. Sorry it is not a very clear photo. My daughter calls it the Awesome Blossom.

These next two items were started before I went into my funk and just finished yesterday. They are made with cotton, the first is an acrylic and cotton blend called Cotton Plus, donated by my sister. It was just a partial skein and I was not sure it would be enough for an entire washcloth. The blue is some yarn that was sent to me by June, see side bar for link, and I don't know what is was since there was no label. But it was some type of cotton.

This second cloth is known as an illusion cloth. I have never made one of these before. It is suppose to be five eggs but there were errors in the pattern and the corrections that were sent were also incorrect and we were not aware of it till the cloth was almost done. So I can't say at this point if I like illusion cloths or not.

Most of these items will be going to my CFAC group and I am off now to work on a throw that I am completing. More on that the next time.

What Do You Think?

Just a quick question here tonight. I am thinking of starting another blog for Knitting and Thread Work. I am doing more of these things now and thought it might be nice to keep a separate home for them with links that pertain to those crafts. Or do you think I should just keep things as they are now? Please drop me a message and let me know your thoughts.

I only did four rows on the Froggy blanket today then worked on some knitted items.

That's it for today. Ghost, OUT!

DR. WHO????

Okay, I started this scarf last night and had 12 rows done when I realized this morning I was working it in the wrong stitch. So I just now ripped it out and started it over. Had to stop and write this post just to let you all know I really am excited about this scarf and have never even watched one episode of Dr. Who. But I will now just to see what it is all about.

The pattern I am using can be found at this siteThe Doctor Who Scarf. There is a lot of information there regarding the scarf and it's history. Also many pictures, including the one I borrowed for this post.

For those of you who are interested but do not knit you can also crochet this scarf and there are instructions found at this site Crochet Doctor Who Scarf. Well, that is it for now except to say that I am using scraps and just trying to keep my colors close as I can. So, I am off now to try and catch up to where I left off last night. Have fun with this. It is a really loooooooooooooong project.

Knitted Washcloth

Here is the picture of the knitted washcloth I made. It took me a full day and morning of another day. It went very slow but I feel comfortable with it now. I used the pattern from Wendy's site that she printed out with the hands and heart.

Today we are going shopping, going to have hamburger for lunch and play with the bow maker. Anything else today will be gravy since there is so much going on here this morning and it is hard to concentrate. Will report back tomorrow with todays final events
