Sissy Project - Wrap

Hi Everyone,
Sorry I have not been around much. It has been a really hot and lazy summer. I know you have heard of the song "Hazy, Lazy Days of Summer", well that is just how I have felt lately. But I did finish another Sissy Project. This one is called Peaches and Pistachio Wrap.

It has taken me quite some time to finish since it has been too warm to handle yarn. I used Homespun in three colors, Painterly Summer, Red and Olive. The pattern came from the magazine "Crochet", March 2008 issue. My hook size was a "J".

It is quite large and I think it could be more of a lapghan for covering your legs on a cool winter evening by the fire. Anyway, sis and I are going to be working on another Sissy Project. But this one will be smaller parts and lighter weight yarn. It will be placemats, coasters, hot pad, and dishcloths for a kitchen set. So I am off now to begin working on that next. See you all when that project is completed.

Hope you all are having a wonderful summer!
That's it today. Ghost, OUT!

That is nice - you did a wonderful job. I am still working the the blocks afghan, along with others and yes, the summer makes it difficult to handle yarn.

Beautifully done. What a great idea to use the squares top and bottom with the stripes in between.

Hi Ghost! Good to hear from you!! This is BEAUTIFUL! Love your colors! The temps are definitely dropping around here, so now is the perfect time for shawls and wraps!.. As for placemats, I just finished up a BUNCH of for myself, and liked them so much that I am thinking of making kitchen sets too! ~tina

I love the colors together, very different. One I wouldn't have thought of but think is very striking.

I'm working on a similar pattern, though one in my head; not really a pattern. I've got squares on the bottom with solid stitching in between. Since it's solid I'm using some textured stiches to add interest.

Good to see you post again. I understand the yarn and heat, but the computer keys don't stick...so come more often and let us know what you're up to.
